6 large apples
1 c light brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp allspice
1/8 tsp nutmeg
Peel and core apples. Cut apples into pieces.
Place apples into crock pot and top with brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Toss to coat well.
Cook on low 10 hours, stirring now and then until the mixture has thickened and is dark brown.
Using a hand held mixer, puree the apples until smooth. Uncover and cook an additional hour.
Set up in jars using traditional canning methods
